Hi everyone. I'm new the forum
dcman2003
Hi. My name is Bruce and I just recently acquired a 1994 E320. I'm new to this forum but have owned a number of Mercedes over the years including 3 220S's (w111), a '69 280 SEL, an '85 190E (which died in a head-on collision with a Dodge Ram, but saved my life) My last Mercedes was an '87 420SEL.

The '94 E320 I bought for $2,000 in Ohio and It was a 10 hr round trip and rental car fees to pick it up, but I think it was a fair bargain. It's black w/palomino M-B tex interior. The car has 162 K on it, but runs great and has a solid body and nice interior. The car is pretty much stock except for the Alpine Sirius xm stereo (sweet sounding system!) and 18" chrome Ferretti wheels. The car was listed on Craigslist and I'm sure those "drug dealer" chrome wheels probably steered a number of prospective buyers away.

The previous owner owned the car for 3 years and seemed to have taken fairly good care of it. The car has a new battery and radiator. I noticed one of the front rotors may be warped. The car has only a slight shudder during braking, but little pedal travel. In any case, I have new front rotors and brake pads to put on.

My main job this weekend is to evict my '70 VW bug from the garage and cover it for winter. I also plan to pull the instrument cluster to replace a faulty dimmer switch and swap the bulbs with brighter LED's while the cluster is out. It'll be a good project to work on this winter. I've purchased plenty of parts to keep me busy. Starting with front brakes, new plugs and wires, brake line flush. So far I've flushed the engine with Liqui moly and installed a K&N oil filter.

The ABS light does stay on and the SRS light comes on once in a while. I'm hoping the brake job and cleaning the wheel speed sensors may remedy the ABS warning light. I may have to inspect the wiring harness to see if its been replaced. If not, that will be done as well. Lots of fun things to do before spring including lubing the sunroof assembly (works, but slow) and installing a new headliner.

Over all, I'm pretty happy with the condition of the car for the price. I'm even warming up to the style of the "drug dealer" wheels and that's damned scary for me. I have decent pics taken by the P.O. so I'll probably upload those for now. I'm not sure if this the right section of the forum to upload pics(?)

I look forward to learning more diy stuff and sharing experiences I have with this car. Have a great weekend everybody!
